Pat Testing Kent
Low Cost PAT Testing Puting Safety First
What is a PAT Test?
A PAT test is a routine inspection of some types of electrical appliance to check they are safe to use.
Its purpose is to prevent electrical accidents in the home and workplace.
A full PAT test should include both a visual inspection and a more in-depth check using specialist PAT testing equipment. This test includes continuity of the earth, lead polarity, and insulation resistance checks.
A detailed record is given and kept for each appliance tested as well as an inventory summary. These records will be made available in an electronic format with a hard copy available upon request
Some appliances only need a basic PAT test, called a PAT insulation test and at the end of the PAT test every electrical appliance should be marked as either ‘passed’ or ‘failed’ and ideally there should be a record of all the results.
